Starting point

From Bolzano follow the Val d'Ega valley to Ponte Nova. Turn right towards Passo Lavazè and right again towards Nova Ponente. At the crossroads, at the village, turn left towards Handwerkerzone and Pensions Daum along a steep paved road that leads to Malga Laab . Parking.

The route winds over gentle undulations of the plateau of Nova Ponente, situated on the slopes of Corno Bianco, with panoramic views of the mountains Rosengarten, Latemar and Brenta. The route is used during the winter for cross country skiing.
The huts provide catering service.

Description

From the car park , having bypassed the bar, continue itowards the east along the forestry road that skirts (in moderate climb) the eastern slopes of Montefrasca.
In moderate slope we get close to the saddle below the northern slopes of the Corno Bianco, where the Malga Capanna Nuova can be found. At the crossroads take the road to the left side, it goes flat towards the east.
With many curves, in a dense forest of fir trees, it emerges on the pastures of Malga Ora. The section that allows you to reach the hut is relatively steep and the road is partly asphalted. You return to Malga Laab on the same itinerary.
