Recreation Centre Trattla in Val Martello valley
| | |
If the Val Venosta valley (Vinschgau) is famous for its delicious apples, the nearby Val Martello valley is renowned throughout Europe for the particular goodness and sweetness of his strawberries. The Val Martello valley indeed is a typical Alpine valley that extends from Laces to the majestic peaks of Cevedale (3,700 m a.s.l.). The area is famous for growing strawberries, the strawberries are particularly tasty thanks to the pure mountain air and clear water of the glacier. But the Val Martello valley has more to offer and the valley is ideal for those who love nature and have learned to respect it.
The location of Trattla, immersed in the woods of the Stelvio National Park, is a centre for leisure and sport, suitable for the whole family. Here, in addition to the museum - the visitor centre "Culturamartell" and the traditional feast of strawberries, held annually in late June, you can spend the day doing outdoor picnic or eating on the sunny terrace of the restaurant and bar.
Children will enjoy the playground, playing ping pong, the football pitch or the mini-golf, while athletes can keep fit on the two tennis courts with night lighting, or along the path to health facilities. Ample opportunities for entertainment are also guaranteed by the two electric bowling tracks. Certainly worth a visit is the interesting museum "Culturamartell", where the culture and history of Martell represent the main themes of the permanent exhibition.
But the pride of the Trattla leisure centre is the climbing hall: 300 sqm, 9 m in height, 72 square meters, small boulder, 60 routes from 4A to 8A. The climbin hall is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 19.00 hours to 22.30, whereas on Saturday and Sunday it is open from 14.30 to 20.30 hours. Fridays is reserved for courses and sports groups. Information at: Rene K. 338 6881208, Tobias Fl. 333 1876094, Christian P. 339 6981240, Peter A. 333 1431510, Erwin A. 0473 744579 - 335 7024655.
