The "Touriseum" or Museum of Tourism is surrounded by extensive botanical gardens and together they constitute the attraction "The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle" - a tourist attraction combining successfully the traditional ingredients, culture and landscape. A single entrance ticket covers a visit to the museum and the extensive gardens. There is also a restaurant on the site.

Empress Elisabeth of Austria spent seven months here in 1870 and enjoyed her stay so much that she thought of buying the castle. The visit of the Empress was the highlight of the castle's eventful history, which dates back to the Middle Ages.

The Touriseum is a charming, ironic museum, full of surprises. The central component is the permanent exhibition of lively scenes, displayed in 20 rooms, which invite you to experience an entertaining journey through 200 years of the history of Alpine tourism. In a delightful way, it combines humour with insight and entertainment with history.
You will find amusement with the South Tyrol game, exhibits worth seeing in the collection, information in the tourism interviews, relaxation in the reading room and something to make you smile in the "Jokes" turret.

The Touriseum has a collection of around 7000 items. Some of these are on display in the permanent exhibition. The rest of the collection can be found in the museum storage facility on the third floor, which is also open to the public. These are the rooms used by Emperor Franz Josef and his wife, Empress Elisabeth, during their visits.

South Tyrol game: The largest "tourism pin-ball-machine" in the world!
The South Tyrol Game is a trip full of irony about South Tyrol clichés. The players steer a ball with levers through the holiday paradise, past lively scenes and lots of comic details. From the ski slopes to a hospital full of legs in plaster, or would you prefer an après-ski party?
