Laives (Leifers) is a small city with southern flair and the largest fruit-growing community in South Tyrol and lies at 158 m above sea level.
Due to the vicinity to Bolzano it is an ideal holiday resort to go hiking and also to visit the province capital of Bolzano.

The locality La Costa is a very nice starting point for excursions in the surroundings. It is embedded in an intact landscape and is a good point of access for the panoramic high path above Laives.

At the church of Laives the famous pilgrimage path to Madonna di Pietralba departs, the most visited place of pilgrimage in Tyrol. More than hundred thousands of people visit the beautiful pilgrimage church every year. The ship museum is also very interesting, it exhibits ship models that can float.

For those who enjoy sport, the sporting zone of Laives offers tennis courts, a fitness path and a football pitch that is transformed into an ice-rink in winter. In the surroundings you have many possibilities to go riding.
