Prato allo Stelvio (Prad am Stilfserjoch) lies at 915 metres above sea level and is situated at the entrance of the Valle di Trafoi valley and at the beginning of the road leading up to the Stelvio pass (2.758 m).
The holiday village is very popular in summer and winter due to its vicinity to the hiking and ski resorts Trafoi and Solda.

In the centre of Prato we find the accessible National Park House Aquaprad, it houses an interesting exhibition on the theme of water (14 aquariums, minerals of the national park Stelvio, animation for children in the afternoon, etc.).

The Romanesque church St. Johann at the southern east outskirts of Prato is worth visiting. It is from the 13th century and has some nice frescos (you can receive the key to the church in the street Via San Giovanni 21).
The Montechiaro castle was decorated with magnificent frescos in 1400, today it is only a ruin. Many of the frescos were taken to the regional museum Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck in North Tyrol.
The castle can be reached by means of a beautiful path that leads right to Glorenza.

From Spondigna a beautiful walk takes you to the Prader Sand, a river delta of the Solda river, with wonderful meadows. Here it is possible to go fishing in one of the fishing ponds.
